Sector leader says childcare crisis can be resolved | Voxy.co.nz

The childcare crisis in New Zealand could be fixed overnight and provide thousands of job opportunities for people wanting to work from home.

Leading in-home childcare provider PORSE is putting the call out for more in-home educators to join the organisation as it tries to keep up with an overwhelming demand from parents who want their children cared for in the home environment.

PORSE Managing Director Jenny Yule said today more parents are choosing in-home childcare because they value the one-on-one care children receive.

"Children form secure attachment relationships with their educators in a settled home environment where natural play and learning can occur," Ms Yule said.

In-home childcare is now the fastest growing sector in early childcare education according to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Education.

More parents are choosing to be in-home educators because it gives them the ability to be at home with their own children while running a business, which is both financially and personally rewarding.

"In-home educators play a very important role helping parents give children a great start in life. The first three years are critical for lifetime success and we need more educators to help parents give their children this opportunity," Ms Yule said.

For nearly two decades PORSE has been providing kiwi families, with a home-grown model of in-home childcare, education and training programmes. The organisation provides all educators and parents with free nationally recognised training programmes to learn more about early brain development and secure attachment relationships.

Ms Yule says as a PORSE educator you get full support in managing your career and looking at what hours work best for you.

"We have qualified programme tutors and friendly support staff who are all part of our living and learning organisation. So if you want to work from home and consider yourself motivated and nurturing, we would love to talk to you today," said Ms Yule.

Home Educators are independent contractors who benefit from PORSE providing full administration of family payments, access to tax benefits and ongoing support in setting up special terms and conditions with families - not to mention many wonderful tools to help you grow and promote your business to where you want it to be.

Working with PORSE allows you to:

- Plan your own week

- Set your own hours and rate

- Be home with your children, taking the time to watch, support and enjoy children's development
